The annually published TÜV Report is one of the most important guides for used car buyers in Germany. It evaluates millions of main vehicle inspection results and shows which vehicle models are particularly reliable and which frequently show defects.
In the TÜV Report 2024, Japanese brands such as Toyota and Mazda again stand out with particularly low defect rates. But German manufacturers such as Porsche and Mercedes also perform very well in several vehicle classes. Most frequently reported are older vehicles with problems with the lighting, brakes and exhaust system.
ENBA recommends always requesting a current TÜV report before buying a used car and having an independent vehicle inspection carried out by an automotive expert.
